The Mariners played a game that actually meant something. It happened in the middle of the night and almost nobody in Seattle saw it, but it happened, and they actually won. They had more runs than hits, and pitching on both sides had a tough day, but what matters is they got the win. Ichiro was in the lineup for the game, but was pulled in a moment that almost appeared to be a final moment, although Scott Servais did say he'll play again tomorrow. Regardless of what his future is on the roster, and despite all of the hand-wringing from fans who didn't think he should be on the roster at all, it was a great moment for Ichiro, the organization, and Japanese baseball. Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse joined Cliff Avril earlier this afternoon, and the big news to come out of the interview is that Doug still has more surgeries to come. Still plenty of time for him to get ready for the season. On Something Good, Jake Olson, the blind long-snapper for USC bench presses for Retinoblastoma research, plus Mt. Si's Ryan Gerlitz and his battle to overcome cancer.
