Story Transcript:

Ro: Radu se simțea ca și cum întreaga greutate a lumii era pe umerii săi în timp ce intra în secția de poliție din Brașov.
En: Radu felt as though the entire weight of the world was on his shoulders as he entered the police station in Brasov.

Ro: Era nervos, dar hotărât.
En: He was nervous but determined.

Ro: Andrei, fiul său adolescent, era lângă el, iar Eliana, soția sa, îi urma, încercând să mențină un aer de calm.
En: Next to him was Andrei, his teenage son, and Eliana, his wife, who was trying to maintain an air of calm as she followed.

Ro: "Domnule, vă pot ajuta?
En: "Sir, can I help you?"

Ro: " întreabă ofițerul de la recepție.
En: the officer at the reception desk asked.

Ro: "Da, suntem aici să raportăm un furt," spune Radu, vocea tremurând ușor.
En: "Yes, we're here to report a theft," Radu said, his voice trembling slightly.

Ro: "A avut loc în vacanța noastră în munții Carpați.
En: "It took place during our vacation in the Carpathian Mountains."

Ro: "Ofițerul ridică o sprânceană și le face semn să ia loc.
En: The officer raised an eyebrow and motioned for them to take a seat.

Ro: Brașovul, oraș cu arhitectură veche și peisaje montane superbe, părea să fie un loc sigur.
En: Brasov, a city with ancient architecture and stunning mountain scenery, seemed like a safe place.

Ro: Dar acum, Radu se îndoia de asta.
En: But now, Radu doubted that.

Ro: "Ce s-a întâmplat exact?
En: "What exactly happened?"

Ro: " întreabă ofițerul, începând să scrie pe un formular.

Ro: "Noaptea trecută, la cabană, am fost jefuiți," explică Radu.
En: "Last night, at the cabin, we were robbed," Radu explained.

En: "They took our phones, money, and some personal valuables."

Ro: "Andrei, cu ochii strălucind de curiozitate, sărea în discuție.
En: Andrei, his eyes shining with curiosity, jumped into the conversation.

Ro: "Poate ar trebui să investigăm și noi, tată.
En: "Maybe we should investigate too, Dad.

Ro: Ar fi ca într-un film!
En: It would be like in a movie!"

Ro: ""Nu, Andrei.
En: "No, Andrei.

Ro: Lasă asta în seama poliției," zice Eliana, punând mâna pe umărul lui pentru a-l calma.
En: Leave it to the police," said Eliana, placing a hand on his shoulder to calm him.

Ro: "Trebuie să le lăsăm pe ei să-și facă treaba.
En: "We need to let them do their job."

Ro: "Radu însă, nu era atât de sigur.
En: Radu, however, was not so sure.

Ro: În zilele ce au urmat, întâlnește doar promisiuni vagi de la poliție.
En: In the days that followed, he heard nothing but vague promises from the police.

Ro: Timpul trecea, dar nimic nu se întâmpla.
En: Time was passing, but nothing was happening.

Ro: Frustrat, începe propria investigație.
En: Frustrated, he began his own investigation.

Ro: Într-o noapte, decide să urmărească un bărbat local pe care l-a văzut cu câteva zile în urmă, având un comportament suspect.
En: One evening, he decided to follow a local man he had seen a few days earlier, exhibiting suspicious behavior.
