I’m excited to share with you my conversation I had with First Lady Abby Palmer Cox, who has been married to Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox for the past 24 years and is a mother of 4. She graduated from North Sanpete High School, Snow College and Utah State University. Abby earned her degree in Special Education with a dual emphasis in Early Childhood and Severe Disabilities, and she is a dedicated advocate for children with special needs. We talk about Show Up Utah, which is an initiative to encourage Utahns everywhere to reach out wherever they are and however they can to lift others, serve, show support, and be willing to learn about and appreciate different points of view.

“Our motto is that you can pretend to care, but you can’t pretend to show up, and that means that when you want to make things better in your community, you show up and you do things that help other people. You get proximate to people that have a different story. That’s why I love people who have all different abilities because they’ve taught me so much.” 1:26
