Nb: Lars var en mann fra Oslo.
En: Lars was a man from Oslo.

Nb: Han var en blid person.
En: He was a cheerful person.

Nb: Men han hadde et problem.
En: But he had a problem.

Nb: Han kunne ikke si "Ø".
En: He could not say "Ø".

Nb: En dag satt Lars i parken.
En: One day, Lars was sitting in the park.

Nb: Han prøvde å lære seg "Ø".
En: He was trying to learn how to say "Ø".

Nb: Men det var vanskelig.
En: But it was difficult.

Nb: Plutselig, en dame kom.
En: Suddenly, a lady approached.

Nb: Hun hørte Lars.
En: She heard Lars.

Nb: Hun ble sint.
En: She became angry.

Nb: "Hva sa du?
En: "What did you say?"

Nb: " spurte hun.
En: she asked.

Nb: Lars ble stresset.
En: Lars became stressed.

Nb: "Jeg sa 'Ø'" forklarte han.
En: "I said 'Ø'," he explained.

Nb: Men det hørtes ikke ut som "Ø".
En: But it didn't sound like "Ø".

Nb: Damen ble sur på Lars.
En: The lady got mad at Lars.

Nb: "Unnskyld," sa Lars.
En: "Sorry," Lars said.

Nb: "Jeg prøver å lære meg 'Ø'".
En: "I'm trying to learn how to say 'Ø'."

Nb: Men damen trodde ikke på ham.
En: But the lady didn't believe him.

Nb: Hun gikk sin vei.
En: She walked away.

Nb: Lars ble trist.
En: Lars felt sad.

En: He didn't want to offend anyone.

En: she said.

Nb: Lars ble redd.
En: Lars got scared.

Nb: Men så sa han "Ø".
En: But then he said "Ø".

Nb: Damen ble overrasket.
En: The lady was surprised.

Nb: Så begynte hun å le.
En: Then she started laughing.

Nb: "Du kan jo si 'Ø'!
En: "You can actually say 'Ø'!"

Nb: " sa hun og lo.
En: she said and laughed.

Nb: "Jeg trodde du fornærmet meg".
En: "I thought you were insulting me."

Nb: "Nei, jeg prøvde bare å lære 'Ø'," sa Lars.
En: "No, I was just trying to learn 'Ø'," said Lars.

Nb: "Vel, nå kan du det," sa damen.
En: "Well, now you can," said the lady.

Nb: Så gikk hun sin vei.
En: Then she walked away.

Nb: Lars smilte.
En: Lars smiled.

Nb: Han hadde lært seg "Ø".
En: He had learned how to say "Ø".

Nb: Og han hadde ikke fornærmet noen.
En: And he hadn't offended anyone.

Nb: Det var en god dag for Lars i Oslo.
En: It was a good day for Lars in Oslo.
