Story Transcript:

Cs: Lukáš a Petra kráčeli po Karlově mostě.
En: Lukáš and Petra were walking across the Charles Bridge.

Cs: Na obloze zářilo slunce a ohřívalo staré pražské kameny.
En: The sun was shining in the sky, warming the old Prague stones.

Cs: Most se hemžil turisty.
En: The bridge was teeming with tourists.

Cs: Všichni fotili, smáli se a užívali si krásy města.
En: Everyone was taking photos, laughing, and enjoying the beauty of the city.

Cs: Ale Lukášovi se nedařilo dostat z hlavy jednu věc – důležitou schůzku, na kterou spěchali.
En: But Lukáš couldn't get one thing out of his mind – an important meeting they were rushing to.

Cs: "Nemůžeme to zmeškat, Petro!" řekl Lukáš, oči plné obav.
En: "We can't miss it, Petra!" said Lukáš, his eyes full of worry.

Cs: Petra, s foťákem na krku, jen pokrčila rameny a usmála se.
En: Petra, with a camera around her neck, just shrugged and smiled.

Cs: "Lukáši, pojďme si to užít. Zpozdili jsme se, ale to neznamená, že musíme být naštvaní," odpověděla klidně.
En: "Lukáš, let's enjoy this. We're already late, but that doesn't mean we have to be upset," she replied calmly.

Cs: Lukáš si povzdechl.
En: Lukáš sighed.

Cs: "To říkáš, protože nemáš tu schůzku," řekl.
En: "You say that because you don't have the meeting," he said.

Cs: Petra zastavila a namířila foťákem na sochu.
En: Petra stopped and pointed her camera at a statue.

Cs: "Raději bych zachytila tenhle okamžik. Podívej se na světlo na té soše!"
En: "I'd rather capture this moment. Look at the light on that statue!"

Cs: Lukáš zavrtěl hlavou.
En: Lukáš shook his head.

Cs: "Nemáme čas na fotky."
En: "We don't have time for photos."

Cs: Petra si dala ruce v bok.
En: Petra put her hands on her hips.

Cs: "Možná ne, ale stále máme volbu, jak ten čas využijeme."
En: "Maybe not, but we still have a choice of how we spend that time."

Cs: První polovina mostu byla za nimi.
En: They had crossed the first half of the bridge.

Cs: Dopravní zácpa okolo mostu neuvadala a stávalo se jasné, že Lukášův plán se rozpadá.
En: The traffic jam around the bridge didn't relent, and it became clear that Lukáš's plan was falling apart.

Cs: Napětí mezi nimi rostlo.
En: The tension between them was growing.

Cs: "Jsi tak uvolněná," pronesl Lukáš podrážděně.
En: "You're so relaxed," Lukáš said irritably.

Cs: "Ale já to musím stihnout."
En: "But I have to make it."

Cs: Petra k němu přistoupila blíž a položila mu ruku na rameno.
En: Petra stepped closer and put a hand on his shoulder.

Cs: "Já chápu, jak moc je pro tebe ta schůzka důležitá.
En: "I understand how important this meeting is for you.

Cs: Ale cesty jsou zablokované.
En: But the roads are blocked.

Cs: Nemůžu to změnit, ty to nemůžeš změnit.
En: I can't change it, you can't change it.

Cs: Co s tím uděláme?"
En: What will we do about it?"

Cs: Lukáš zastavil.
En: Lukáš stopped.

Cs: V jeho očích se objevil záblesk uvědomění.
En: A flash of realization appeared in his eyes.

Cs: Podíval se na řeku Vltavu a na město, které miloval.
En: He looked at the Vltava River and the city he loved.

Cs: Na chvíli připustil myšlenku, že možná Petra má pravdu.
En: For a moment, he entertained the thought that maybe Petra was right.

Cs: "Tak co teď?" zeptal se, jeho hlas už méně napjatý.
En: "So what now?" he asked, his voice less tense.

Cs: Petra se usmála.
En: Petra smiled.

Cs: "Pojď, podíváme se po něčem zajímavém.
En: "Come on, let's look for something interesting.

Cs: Kdo ví, co najdeme!"
En: Who knows what we might find!"

Cs: A tak pokračovali po mostě.
En: And so they continued across the bridge.

Cs: Petra fotila sochy, lidi a město.
En: Petra took photos of statues, people, and the city.

Cs: Lukáš se díval na její nadšení a začal vidět krásu v každodennostech, které si dříve nevšímal.
En: Lukáš watched her enthusiasm and began to see the beauty in the everyday things he hadn't noticed before.

Cs: Dopravní zácpa byla dlouhá, ale najednou mu to nevadilo tolik jako předtím.
En: The traffic jam was long, but suddenly it didn't bother him as much as before.

Cs: Petra pochopila, jak moc pro něj ta schůzka znamená, a Lukáš zase začal chápat, jak cenné jsou momenty, které nezahrnují plánování.
En: Petra understood how much the meeting meant to him, and Lukáš began to understand how valuable moments are that don't involve planning.

Cs: Když se dopravní situace nakonec zlepšila, schůzku sice nestihli, ale něco důležitého získali oba.
En: When the traffic finally improved, they missed the meeting, but they both gained something important.

Cs: Lukáš se naučil, že některé věci nejde ovlivnit, a Petra ocenila Lukášovu oddanost a jeho snahu.
En: Lukáš learned that some things cannot be controlled, and Petra appreciated Lukáš's dedication and effort.

Cs: Spolu odcházeli z Karlova mostu, slunce stále zářilo a město je vítalo zpátky s otevřenou náručí.
En: They left the Charles Bridge together, the sun still shining, and the city welcomed them back with open arms.

Cs: Lukáš se usmíval a Petra si povšimla, že jeho krok už není tak spěšný.
En: Lukáš was smiling, and Petra noticed that his step was no longer so hurried.

Cs: Oba získali nové porozumění a jejich přátelství bylo silnější než kdy dřív.
En: They both gained new understanding, and their friendship was stronger than ever before.
