Host Sean Lennon welcomed back Indiana Native Lightweight Pro Corey "Maximus" Jackson on The Fightlete Report. Corey defeated Brandon Webb by Unanimous Decision at NFC 129 last month in Atlanta, GA where he currently resides. He trains at American Top Team Atlanta alongside UFC Welterweight Dhiego Lima and Bellator MMA Welterweight Champion Douglas Lima. He also trained Team Colon MMA in Merriville Indiana.
Corey is now 4-1 and is one of the top prospects in the country at Lightweight, this was his first fight in over 2 and half years. He talked about how frustrated he was with multiple Fight cancellations the past couple of years, staying motivated, and training during the pandemic, desire to fight international talent, what he feels UFC is looking for in him, desire to get more finishes, wanting to fight Charles "Felony" Bennett, preparing his former teammate Tom Shoaff competing in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship and if he would like to do it.
