NOFX have dropped their latest album titled Single Album, a collection of 10 new songs that are said to be the bands most personal to date.


To verify this, HEAVY caught up with frontman Fat Mike to find out the truth.


We start by talking about the album opener “The Big Drag”, a six-minute monster hardcore track that seemingly looks to throw you off from the outset.


"I really don't know another song that that sounds like,” Mike offered. “It's my favourite song on the album and I was just trying to set the mood because it's a dark album, that songs dark, and it's negative. I really don't think that our children will live in this kind of world. I think they'll live in a much darker, futile society so I'm just calling it as I see it.”


The album marks Fat Mikes last before entering rehab, an occurrence that has shocked many in the world and left questions as to the future of the band.


“I went to rehab three or four months ago and this record was written while I was on booze and cocaine,” Mike said proudly, “and it was recorded while I was on booze and cocaine. In fact, I have never done a record - I used to record records sober - but this was the first record where I was using every day so maybe that's why it has a different sound and maybe why it might be a little sloppier. I don't know. This is what you get when you record Fat Mike when he's wasted.”
