The Hacienda is written by Isabel Cañas. It's set in the aftermath of the Mexican War of Independence. It follows Beatriz, a mestiza woman, who, in an attempt to improve her life after the war, marries a wealthy Hacienda owner. She is determined to make this Hacienda her home, and in her determination, she looks past red flags.
