Scott Moore a storyteller, yogi, father, meditator, and mentor. I was very fortunate to snag an interview with him before he moved back to France with his wife Seneca and son Elio. Scott has been a part of my life for the past ten years and more frequently as a true friend and mentor in the past two. Last year Scott and I were able to share two yoga retreats together, one in Kauai and one in Ireland, I know rough life right. Scott helped facilitate these life-changing retreats with fellow 21st Yoga instructors Kim Dastrup and John Cottrell who has also been on the podcast. Each morning during the two retreats Scott would start our centering of oneself with Kuk Son Do a Korean martial arts very similar to Tai Chi focused on cultivating the quality of the mind with connection to the elements of the earth. The amount of purpose I felt with little or no intention at the start of my mornings offered a sense of purity and innocence within the direction I was choosing, whether if it was an intention of where my eyes focused or what I wanted to manifest for the rest of the day. Kuk Son Do has had a huge impact on my life since and to be honest I have only practiced it with Scott on the two yoga retreats. Being a professional ballerina and how I have matured within this career over the years I found those little bits of wisdom Scott has mentioned in our morning practices pass through my mind when I am rehearsing or performing. That fleeting “Live in the Moment.” quality I have just began to taste. So thank you Scott for opening my Soul to such a purposeful practice. In this interview we dive into separating ourselves from the things we are passionate about or that make us, us. How Scott turns the questions on me and how we can all learn to respond differently in whatever our career choice is. An amazing exchange of how one processes their own life and the experiences within it. Scott currently offers out an email list with stories, poetry, workshops, current contemplations and his way of processing. It is honestly the highlight of my emails each month and I love receiving these little shifts of perspective. Grateful to know this lovely human being, I hope this episode offers you some wisdom.
