Episode 63: YOGA VETERAN SERIES 1: Yogeswari AZAHAR foundation
.
Happy International Yoga Day! (Which really is every goddamn day….. but still great excuse to launch a yoga veteran series)
.
The first one in a three week series with yoga veterans. I fell in love with this wonderful soul in the winter of 2018 on a cold, desert "women" island "fraueninsel" just outside Munich.
.
Yogeswari touched my heart instantly and spending a month together during Jivamukti Teacher Training brought us even closer together. I have such respect and a deep love for her teachings, her guidance on this yoga path and all the wonderful human rights work she does. 💪💪💪💪💪
.
Yogeswari is a senior, advanced Jivamukti Yoga teacher, she has been facilitating the Teacher Trainings for years now and even more important she runs an incredible foundation called AZAHAR.
.
AZAHAR Foundation is an international not-for-profit organization that promotes peace building and cross-cultural communication through Yoga and the Arts supported by non-violent communication, youth-leadership, and other related methodologies. Current projects are in Cambodia, Rwanda and Ivory Coast. But it has been expanding. As Yogeswari mentions in this episode she also helped a Syrian refugee called Ahmad to take Jivamukti Teacher Training, him and I actually teach a fundraiser for AZAHAR this Saturday, he will be on the podcast this Friday! Don't miss it!
.
