Years of Service: 1989-2007
Susan began her career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in 1989, and at the time other officers knew her as Susan Higgins. Susan began in the transportation unit driving inmates to and from court and was assigned to the special transportation unit where she drove celebrities like OJ Simpson and the Menendez Brothers. Susan later became a patrol deputy at Industry Station and in 1999, was promoted to station detective. In 2000, Susan was transferred to the Major Crimes Bureau Metro where she worked on kidnappings, murder for hires, fugitive detail, and escapes from the county jail where she handled the Dr. Doolittle case. In 2007, Susan was forced to retire from a job she loved after several accidents and 4 blown discs in her neck and three in her lower back.
