Grabbing a colleagues slide deck, ten minutes before a presentation, does not work. Using a corporate slide presentation is fine, but not an excuse for not preparing the presentation. I have presentations I have been delivering for 15 years. Every time I deliver the speech I spend time reviewing the presentation and making sure it will meet the objectives set by my client.

So today I want to explore Purpose. Why are you making this speech? What is your message? Clear purpose gives your presentation focus and lets your audience know why they should listen.
