Jade Market is located at the intersection of Street Kansu and Battery Street in an area called Yau Ma Tai, you will see a large covered pavilion. Here, you will find over 400 small booths selling all sorts of objects made out of jade as well as bigger shops. All of the traders sell pretty much the same things, most of which are quite generic, but you can definitely find rare and unique objects if you try.Chinese people love jade. They believe that this stone protects from demons, and therefore almost everyone has a lucky charm made out of jade. One of the most popular souvenirs available from the Jade Market is a statue of Buddha - which, according to belief, will bring prosperity to a household. Please consider buying one - and your household may be forever protected. You can find a variety of jewelry and home decorations. Also, the diversity of kitchen equipment and Asian dining accessories is amazing. The locals visit the Jade Market just as much as tourists do. It is very common here to give jade presents, since the stone has very good connotations.
