show moreTodd directs the film We Need to Talk. The film focuses on Scott, a self-observed online video game influencer. Scott can speak with millions of fans each day, but he cannot (or will not) communicate with his loved ones. He is unaware of this problem. However, when his girlfriend Aly tells him: “we need to talk.” That phrase sends Scott on a whirlwind adventure as he seeks wisdom, advice, and emotional support from his social media network of friends, internet trolls, and a diverse myriad of online characters worldwide.
We Need to Talk stars James Maslow (Big Time Rush and Celebrity Big Brother USA) as Scott and Daytime Emmy-winning actress Christel Khalil (The Young & The Restless) as Aly. The film also stars Johnathan Hernandez (HBO Max’s Gossip Girl), Tray Chaney (The Wire), and Emily Bett Rickards (Arrow). Fans can join James, Christel, Johnathan, Tray, and Emily on May 12 for a screening that will include a live introduction from the cast. The cast will also interact with them in a special chat and a Live Q&A session following the premiere. We Need to Talk premieres on digital platforms on May 13.
In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Todd Wolfe spoke about his background working on music videos for the Fugees and Ms. Lauryn Hill. He also shared how video game influencers such as FroKnowsPhoto, HipHopGamer, GlitterXplosion, and Clementinator got involved with the We Need to Talk filming process.
