We have looked at where to find stories and a few examples. I hope that you have now started to build a library of stories. You don't need to write them out - A good title that reminds you of the story - and a few highlights - and of course the point, the moral, the lesson from the story - because that is the key to stories in speeches.

Tonight I am going to expand on this by looking at story structure. And remember that you can alway amplify any story - a little literary license to expand the story, add some drama, adjust to timeline to suit the message you are illustrating.

Stories do not have to be absolutely true - but I do recommend that you base them on the true facts and try to get the time approximately true. I like to give a precise date and time sometimes for dramatic effect, but on occasions I have had to make a guess which is OK if it is not really that important and would be difficult for someone to check.
