Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 John 2:9
Jesus meets our needs even in the seemingly small matters.

Today’s daily devotional is about Jesus’ first miracle at the wedding in Cana. By turning water into wine at His mother’s request, Jesus revealed His divine power to His disciples, confirming their belief that He was the promised Messiah.
STORY
Bible in a Year: The First Miracle
Scripture
This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

John 2:11
Have you ever experienced a moment that transformed your understanding of someone’s true nature?

The first miracle Jesus performed at the wedding in Cana did just that for His disciples. When the wine ran out, Mary, Jesus’ mother, approached Him, knowing He could help. Jesus initially questioned the timing, but He honored His mother’s request, instructing the servants to fill jars with water, which He then miraculously turned into wine.

What does this miracle teach us about Jesus' character and mission?

Jesus' response to a simple need at a wedding reveals His compassion and willingness to act, even in seemingly small matters. This act of turning water into wine not only saved the wedding celebration but also subtly demonstrated His divine authority.

How does witnessing God’s work in our lives strengthen our faith?

The servants and disciples, aware of the miracle, were filled with awe and deepened their belief in Jesus. This first sign served as a powerful testament to His identity as the Messiah. It encourages us to recognize and celebrate the everyday miracles in our lives, acknowledging God’s hand in both significant and mundane moments.

How can we cultivate a heart that anticipates and recognizes God's miracles?

Jesus’ first miracle reminds us to be attentive to God’s work around us. Often, His interventions may not be immediately visible to everyone, but they are deeply impactful for those who notice. By cultivating gratitude and maintaining a prayerful awareness, we can better perceive and appreciate the miracles in our daily lives.
REFLECTION
Reflect on the ways God has revealed His power and love in your life. Are there small, everyday miracles you might be overlooking?

This week, take time to acknowledge and thank God for His presence and work in your life, no matter how subtle. Like the disciples, allow these moments to deepen your faith and strengthen your relationship with Him.

PRAYER
“When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,”
JOHN 2:9
Dear Heavenly Father, give me the boldness like the men in today's reading to leave my comfort and all I know to follow the plan and purposes of God. As I focus on Jesus I will be led by His Spirit, I will not allow anyone around me to place doubt in my heart that You are the Messiah the one chosen to change my life, Jesus. Like Your life Jesus, people may doubt who You’ve called me to be because of how and where I was raised, but I will ignore the doubters because great things come from obscure places. Quicken my heart so that I will know the time and place to use the gifts You’ve given me. Bless me with divine obedience so that I may walk in the wake of Your miracles and point people to Your saving grace. I declare that this is the season of miracles, I declare that this is the season of new beginnings. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
