-We should care about our thyroid health because our thyroid has multiple jobs in our bodies. It provides energy, fuels metabolism, and regulates hormones
-Hypothyroid = slow and tired
-Hyperthyroid = quick, hyperfunctioning
-Infertility can be tied to either hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, but more commonly its hypothyroidism
-Ask your provider to check a full thyroid panel (T4, T3, reverse T3, thyroid antibodies)
-Be an advocate for your own health! Don’t be afraid to share with your provider what you have learned and why you want a certain test or why you have a certain concern
-The thyroid senses and responds to change
-There are multiple possible causes of hypothyroidism: stress (esp. chronic stress), lack of sleep, toxicity, eating high inflammatory foods
-NOURISH your thyroid by reducing stress, sleeping enough, and eating clean
-You may need medication and/or supplement support for your thyroid, and that’s OK!
