Framing the podcast series, this episode celebrates efforts to engage refugees in sport at both the elite and grassroots levels.

Rose Nathike highlights her experience as an athlete competing for the IOC Refugee Olympic Team in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 and offers insight to how Paris 2024 Olympic Refugee Team athletes will be anticipating the games. Simon Rosenbaum, Professor UNSW Sydney, shares how engagement in sport and physical exercise has become a vital new – and scientifically validated – focus in support of refugee communities, both in humanitarian settings and countries of resettlement.

For more information about the Paris 2024 Olympic Refugee Team – and previous IOC Refugee Olympic Team athletes such as Rose – visit www.olympicrefugefoundation.org.
