In this episode of #ThinkArctic, we speak with Dr. Pam Lloyd, vice president of GCI Education and Healthcare, about how broadband is changing lives in the Arctic. We also speak with guests from Dr. Lloyd’s panel on the impact of broadband in the Arctic at the recent Arctic Broadband Forum in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Guests include: Byron Nicholai, who was raised in Alaska’s remote village of Toksook Bay and performs the intro music for ThinkArctic; Macy Kenworthy, vice president of the Qikiqtagruk Inupiaq Youth Council and a member of the U.S. Arctic Youth Ambassador program; Stewart Ferguson, chief technology officer for the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium in Anchorage; Dr. Lisa Parady, executive director of the Alaska Council of School Administrators; and Stewart McDonald, principal of the Kodiak Island Borough School District.
