Having Michael Montoya on the podcast, was a conversation of pure authenticity and vulnerability. We have been friends for over five years and hearing more of his childhood story by understanding his family of origin and the resilience that was required time and again is a conversation we all need to experience with the people who hold value in our lives. Hearing a friends story and what was required of him at such a young age with raising his younger brother is not your typical story of resentment when responsibility is inevitable. For Michael honoring the place that his mother and father were in, he wholeheartedly stepped into caring for his brother and still does to this day. Michael's relationship with reading and writing has been a constant evolution and hearing his perspective on some of these timeless books is a moment worth paying attention to. Jack Kerouac's On the Road, Clarissa Pinkola Estés' Women Who Run with Wolves, Allen Ginsberg, and Carl Jung's theory on Capitalism. Michael is currently a server at WhiteHorse a recent graduate from Westminster. Please enjoy this episode featuring Michael Montoya he has lots of wisdom to offer from being compassionate with yourself during this time to showing up for your community.
