For more than two weeks, protests rocked the East African country of Kenya after the government attempted to introduce a controversial tax hike on essential commodities.

These protests tragically resulted in casualties, with 32 lives lost, and continued up until last week Tuesday despite the government's withdrawal of the proposed tax measures.
