This week's show ended with the guys already planning YET ANOTHER return of Jeff H. Ryan in the #Lounge! Jeff, making his second appearance (and third installment) this week, and it was NOT DISAPPOINTING in any way!
COVID doesn't slow down research and writing, and Jeff has been AMAZINGLY busy! Jeff shares how long it takes to research, the topic of his next book, and amazing connections of historical figures! The guys go back to Jim Whyte, and the story of the hermit who, in the early 1900s, ran opium from the Canadian border, in Maine, to Chinatown in New York City. Jeff expands on the story of Jim's wife, Tessa, and confirming some of his original theories. Jim Whyte's story just keeps getting EVEN MORE interesting!
The guys play a little "Would You Rather," with Jeff, and it was such a good time because they only got through 3 scenarios! Jeff has stories to add to his reasoning for choosing his decision! Jeff has a solution for slow drive-thru lines at coffee shops, and Matt adds his idea to Jeff's! The four then decide on "Saving Humanity" over what they really WANT on the last one!
The guys then dive deep into Jeff's experiences in visiting Mount St. Helen's, shortly after erupting in 1980, and then again 30 years later! He talks about where he was when it erupted, and the topography of the landscape, then and now! Just a great piece of the conversation!
Jeff also reveals what his next adventure is, and says that it MIGHT bring him into the Lounge's neighborhood!
Jeff addresses his first job in "writing," and how much "fun," he really had, and some plans he MIGHT do with some of that writing. OH, and one other REALLY SMELLY product he "wrote" about!
Over an hour into our hangout we touch upon something Jeff's really been diving into, and that is documentaries that are found at www.voicesofthewilderness.com! Great topics and the guys only brushed upon it!
As they start to sign off, Jeff brings up a story from his Appalachian Trail book, that they missed the first time he visited! The guys just keep uncovering GREAT stories with Jeff, that when he comes back, the guys are SURE they will uncover more new tidbits that are absolutely GREAT!
