Drunk Mom Loses It – Crashes Twice, Misplaces Toddler, and Fights Police!

On May 6th, 2024, an officer in Ohio, while on patrol, observed a woman driving recklessly before stopping at a business and then speeding home, prompting a welfare check. When officers arrived at her residence, the intoxicated woman refused to cooperate and tried to enter her house through the garage. Reports indicated she had been involved in a collision earlier, and upon reaching her driveway, she struck a parked minivan in front of the officers. While speaking with officers, the woman was argumentative, raising her fist and shouting at the officers, prompting a warning from the officer. She insisted to officers that she had picked up her two-year-old son, left him inside the house alone, and began searching for him frantically. Officers accompanied her inside, but she could not locate the child and continued searching outside. Officers later learned that the child was at school and would be cared for by the babysitter. After confirming the child was safe with a babysitter and not in danger, officers conducted standardized field sobriety tests (SFSTs). Officers later discovered she had a suspended license and a prior citation for driving under suspension. Officers arrested the suspect after performing poorly on the SFSTs, along with all the other evidence. The suspect resisted arrest, screaming and physically fighting back at officers. The suspect was eventually secured in the patrol car for transport to jail. The suspect's son was brought to the scene by the babysitter, and the child's grandmother was contacted to take care of him. The suspect was charged with OVI, Driving in Violation of License Restriction, and Resisting Arrest.
