show moreOn June 10th, 2023, an officer on duty observed a vehicle roll through an intersection against a red light, with the female driver visibly slumped over. The vehicle passed by the officer and began drifting into the opposing lanes of travel. The officer activated her overhead lights and sirens, prompting the driver to sit up and stop the vehicle. Approaching cautiously, an officer noticed signs of potential impairment, prompting an inquiry and standardized field sobriety tests (SFSTs). When questioned on how much she had to drink tonight, the suspect told the officer, “Enough.” After performing poorly on the SFSTs and all the other evidence, the officer placed the suspect under arrest for Operating a Vehicle under the Influence (OVI). Later, the suspect stated that the only reason why she was so drunk was because the drinks were free before asking to be let walk home. The suspect was transported to the local police department, where the suspect provided a breath sample that read 0.174 Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC), over 2 times above the legal limit of 0.08 BAC. The suspect’s driver’s license was also suspended after her arrest. The female suspect was charged with OVI, Seatbelt Violation, and Red Light Violation. #police #bodycam #cops
