The guide was written to support educators and administrators in preparing for the 2020 Presidential election. Published by the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (Summer 2020), the DAY AFTER ELECTION GUIDE includes content on navigating classroom climate, communication, curriculum, legal considerations, professional development, and responding to challenges inside and outside of the classroom.
Shanelle Henry, is the Director of Equity and Inclusion at Greens Farms Academy, Co-Chair of the Commission on Diversity for the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), and is also an active member of TEAM Westport, the official diversity committee of the Town of Westport. An alumna of Smith College and the University of Massachusetts Amherst Social Justice Education (SJE) graduate program. Co-Founded the Institute for Teaching Diversity and Social Justice (www.idsj.us) with Dr. Khyati Joshi. Returning to Third Space, Jonathan C. Zur is President & CEO of the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC), an organization that works with schools, business, and communities to achieve success through inclusion. Jonathan was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to the Commonwealth Commission on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, formed in the aftermath of the tragedy in Charlottesville in August 2017. In 2016, Jonathan was a speaker at the inaugural White House Summit on Diversity and Inclusion in Government.
