December 29: The One who lifts up and grants the desires of the heart.

Psalms 144:1-10:
Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle— my lovingkindness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me. Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him? Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. Bow down Your heavens, O Lord, and come down; touch the mountains, and they shall smoke. Flash forth lightning and scatter them; shoot out Your arrows and destroy them. Stretch out Your hand from above; rescue me and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of foreigners, whose mouth speaks lying words, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood. I will sing a new song to You, O God; on a harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You, the One who gives salvation to kings, who delivers David His servant from the deadly sword.

The 144 is a psalm that King David wrote inspired by the times he went out to war to lead the army of Israel. He learned that it was not because of his own ability and dexterity, intelligence or strength, but because the Spirit of God was in him.
From a very young age, when he was a shepherd, he understood that he had a special gift; he had developed his faith in God, it was so firm that he confronted the wild beasts that wanted to destroy the sheep under his charge, invoking the Name of the Lord.
At that moment when he invoked the Name of the Lord, he received forces to neutralize them with the blow of a stone thrown with force and great speed, and then with his hands he took them by the jaw to wound and kill them.
This faith was what turned him from being a defender of the flock to defending his people, confronting a fearsome and tall warrior. While Israel's bravest soldiers were in hiding, for David facing the giant was like facing one of the wild animals he was used to defeating.
When we develop David's vision, we will be able to confront adverse moments with courage, knowing that it is God who gives us the capacity, the sagacity, the strength and the courage to overcome the tests, trials or temptations or any kind of attack from the enemy against us or our home.
Train your hands, mind and heart to win battles in the name of Jesus!


Psalm 145:14-21:
The Lord upholds all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them. The Lord preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy. My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh shall bless His holy name forever and ever.

This psalm contains beautiful and special promises from the Lord for us! First, it teaches us the confidence that if at some point we go through difficult circumstances that tend to discourage us, we have God who comforts us and lifts us up.
God comforts, encourages, protects, redeems, supports and has compassion for His children who have suffered hard blows in life.
Second, the psalmist also attributed to the Lord that great ability to bless and grant the desires of the one who fully trusts in the Lord. God shows no partiality. He blesses anyone who sets their sights on the Lord and believes that God can do great and wonderful things!

Diciembre 29: El que levanta y concede los deseos del corazón.

Salmos 144:1‭-‬10 RVA2015:
"Bendito sea el SEÑOR, mi roca, quien adiestra mis manos para la batalla y mis dedos para la guerra. Misericordia mía y castillo mío; mi refugio y mi libertador; mi escudo en quien he confiado; el que sujeta los pueblos debajo de mí. Oh SEÑOR, ¿qué es el hombre para que pienses en él? ¿Qué es el hijo del hombre para que lo estimes? El hombre es semejante a un soplo; sus días son como la sombra que pasa. Oh SEÑOR, inclina tus cielos y desciende; toca las montañas y humeen. Despide relámpagos y dispérsalos; envía flechas y túrbalos. Extiende tu mano desde lo alto, rescátame y líbrame de las aguas caudalosas, de la mano de los hombres extranjeros cuya boca habla vanidad y cuya derecha es mano de mentira. Oh Dios, a ti cantaré un cántico nuevo; te cantaré con arpa de diez cuerdas. Tú eres el que da victoria a los reyes, el que rescata a su siervo David de la maligna espada."

El 144 es un salmo que el rey David escribió inspirado en las veces que salía a la guerra para dirigir al ejército de Israel. Él aprendió que no era por su propia habilidad y destreza, inteligencia o fuerza, sino porque el Espíritu de Dios estaba en él.
Desde muy joven, cuando era un pastor de ovejas, comprendió que él tenía un don especial; él había desarrollado su fe en Dios, era tan firme que él confrontaba las fieras del campo que querían destrozar las ovejas a su cargo invocando el Nombre del Señor.
En ese momento en que invocaba el Nombre del Señor, él recibía fuerzas para neutralizarlos con el golpe de una piedra arrojada con fuerza y gran velocidad, y después con sus manos los tomaba por la mandíbula para herirlos y matarlos.
Esta fe fue lo que lo convirtió de ser defensor del rebaño a defender a su pueblo, confrontando a un guerrero temible y de gran estatura. Mientras que los soldados más valientes de Israel estaban escondidos, para David enfrentar al gigante era como enfrentar a uno de los animales salvajes que estaba acostumbrado a derrotar.
Cuando desarrollemos la visión de David, vamos a poder confrontar momentos adversos con valentía, sabiendo que es Dios el que nos da la capacidad, la sagacidad, las fuerzas y la valentía para vencer las pruebas o tentaciones o cualquier clase de ataque del enemigo en contra nuestra o nuestro hogar.
¡Adiestra tus manos, tu mente y corazón para ganar batallas en el nombre de Jesús!


Salmos 145:14‭-‬21 RVA2015:
El SEÑOR sostiene a todos los que caen y levanta a todos los que han sido doblegados. Los ojos de todos tienen su esperanza puesta en ti y tú les das su comida a su debido tiempo. Abres tu mano y satisfaces el deseo de todo ser viviente. Justo es el SEÑOR en todos sus caminos y bondadoso en todas sus obras. Cercano está el SEÑOR a todos los que le invocan, a todos los que le invocan de verdad. Cumplirá el deseo de los que le temen. Asimismo, oirá el clamor de ellos y los salvará. El SEÑOR guarda a todos los que le aman pero destruirá a todos los impíos. Mi boca expresará la alabanza del SEÑOR: ¡Bendiga todo mortal su santo nombre, eternamente y para siempre!

¡Este salmo contiene promesas hermosas y especiales de parte del Señor para nosotros! Primero, nos enseña la confianza de que si en algún momento pasamos por circunstancias difíciles que tienden a desanimarnos, nosotros tenemos a Dios que nos conforta y nos levanta.
Dios consuela, anima, ampara, redime, apoya y se compadece de sus hijos que han sufrido duros golpes en la vida.
Segundo, el salmista también atribuyó al Señor esa grandiosa capacidad de bendecir y conceder los deseos del que confía plenamente en el Señor. Dios no hace acepción de personas. ¡Él bendice a cualquiera que pone su mirada en el Señor y cree que Dios puede hacer cosas grandes y maravillosas!
