Deuteronomio 28: ¿Bendición o maldición? Es tu elección.

Deuteronomio 28:1‭-‬20 RVA2015:
“Y sucederá que si escuchas diligentemente la voz del SEÑOR tu Dios, procurando poner por obra todos sus mandamientos que yo te mando hoy, también el SEÑOR tu Dios te enaltecerá sobre todas las naciones de la tierra. Cuando obedezcas la voz del SEÑOR tu Dios, vendrán sobre ti todas estas bendiciones, y te alcanzarán: “Bendito serás en la ciudad, y bendito en el campo. “Benditos serán el fruto de tu vientre, el fruto de tu tierra y el fruto de tu ganado, la cría de tus vacas y el aumento de tus ovejas. “Benditas serán tu canasta y tu artesa de amasar. “Bendito serás al entrar, y bendito al salir. “El SEÑOR hará que tus enemigos que se levanten contra ti sean derrotados delante de ti. Por un camino saldrán hacia ti, y por siete caminos huirán de ti. “El SEÑOR mandará bendición a tus graneros y a todo lo que emprenda tu mano. Él te bendecirá en la tierra que el SEÑOR tu Dios te da. Si guardas los mandamientos del SEÑOR tu Dios y andas en sus caminos, el SEÑOR te confirmará como pueblo santo suyo, como te ha jurado. Todos los pueblos de la tierra verán que eres llamado por el nombre del SEÑOR, y te temerán. “El SEÑOR hará que sobreabundes en bienes, en el fruto de tu vientre, en el fruto de tus animales y en el fruto de tu campo, en la tierra que el SEÑOR juró a tus padres que te daría. Él te abrirá su buen tesoro, los cielos, para dar lluvia a tu tierra en su tiempo y para bendecir toda la obra de tus manos. Tú darás prestado a muchas naciones, pero tú no pedirás prestado. “Si obedeces los mandamientos del SEÑOR tu Dios que yo te mando hoy para que los guardes y cumplas, el SEÑOR te pondrá como cabeza y no como cola. Estarás encima, nunca debajo. “No se aparten de todas las palabras que yo les mando hoy ni a la derecha ni a la izquierda, para ir tras otros dioses a fin de rendirles culto. “Pero si no escuchas la voz del SEÑOR tu Dios a fin de procurar poner por obra todos sus mandamientos y sus estatutos que yo te mando hoy, todas estas maldiciones vendrán sobre ti y te alcanzarán: “Maldito serás en la ciudad, y maldito en el campo. “Malditas serán tu canasta y tu artesa de amasar. “Malditos serán el fruto de tu vientre y el fruto de tu tierra, la cría de tus vacas y el aumento de tus ovejas. “Maldito serás al entrar, y maldito al salir. “El SEÑOR enviará contra ti maldición, turbación y reprensión en todo lo que emprenda tu mano, hasta que seas destruido y perezcas rápidamente a causa de la maldad de tus hechos, por los cuales me habrás abandonado.

Este capítulo es muy importante porque es la declaración que Dios le dio a Moisés acerca del futuro que Israel tendría dependiendo de la acción que ellos tomaran en sus vidas cuando entraran a la tierra prometida.
Si lees detalladamente vas a notar varias etapas de las bendiciones como de las maldiciones.

A medida que se acercaran a Dios y cumplieran la palabra del Señor, ellos iban a crecer en bendiciones; y la abundancia la recibirán gradualmente a medida de su crecimiento espiritual. Al pasar el tiempo y demostraran su fidelidad al Señor, ellos serían afirmados.
Pero si ellos se apartaba del Señor quebrantando sus mandamientos, ignorando sus estatutos y comenzaban a inclinarse al mal, Dios fue muy específico al decirles todo lo que les vendría, desde la escasez y el hambre hasta las enfermedades físicas y mentales, y al final serían llevados en cautiverio hacia otras tierras lejanas donde serían vendidos como esclavos a otras naciones y nadie iba a querer comprarlos.
En la mitad de este capítulo veremos la causa principal por la cual ellos sufrirán todo eso, y es por la actitud que tendrán en contra de Dios; leamos Deuteronomio 28:47-48: “Por no haber servido al SEÑOR tu Dios con alegría y gozo de corazón por la abundancia de todo, servirás a tus enemigos que el SEÑOR enviará contra ti, en medio del hambre, de la sed, de la desnudez y de la falta de todas las cosas. Él pondrá sobre tu cuello un yugo de hierro, hasta destruirte."

Tristemente estás advertencias se convirtieron en profecías cumplidas. Ellos tomaron la decisión de abandonar completamente los mandamientos del Señor. Dios les enviaba profetas y muchos mensajeros para que pudieran persuadir al pueblo, pero ellos se desenfrenaron, cometiendo actos pecaminosos y, después de muchos años, al final, estas maldiciones cayeron sobre ellos; fueron llevados cautivos, muchos murieron por la espada, otros por las enfermedades, y otros fueron llevados como esclavos a otras naciones.

Espero que esta reflexión nos recuerde que Dios desea grandemente bendecirnos, pero que debemos tomar la decisión correcta de qué clase de vida vamos a vivir, si es una vida justa que le agrada a Dios o una vida injusta y viéndola a nuestra manera.
Recuerda que Dios es lento para la ira y es grande en misericordia pero que también es un Dios celoso y busca un pueblo que le adore de corazón y le sea fiel.

Deuteronomy 28: Blessing or Curse? It's your choice.

Deuteronomy 28:14
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you. The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.”

This chapter is very important because it is the declaration that God gave to Moses about the future that Israel would have depending on the action that they took in their lives when they entered the promised land.
This is a long chapter but very surprising to see the details with which God was instructing His children.
If you read carefully you will notice various stages of blessings as well as curses.

As they drew closer to God and fulfilled the word of the Lord, they would grow in blessings; and the abundance they will receive gradually as they grow spiritually. As time passed and they demonstrated their faithfulness to the Lord, they would be affirmed.
But if they turned away from the Lord by breaking His commandments, ignoring His statutes and beginning to incline to evil, God was very specific in telling them everything that would come to them, from scarcity and hunger to physical and mental illness, and in the end they would be taken into captivity to other distant lands where they would be sold as slaves to other nations and no one would want to buy them.
In the middle of this chapter we will see the main cause for which they will suffer all this, and it is because of the attitude they will have against God; let's read Deuteronomy 28:47-48: “Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you.”

Sadly these warnings became fulfilled prophecies. They made the decision to completely abandon the commandments of the Lord. God sent them prophets and many messengers so that they could persuade the people, but they went wild, committing sinful acts and, after many years, in the end, these curses fell on them; they were taken captive, many died by the sword, others by disease, and still others were taken as slaves to other nations.

I hope that this reflection reminds us that God greatly wants to bless us, but that we must make the right decision of what kind of life we ​​are going to live, if it is a righteous life that pleases God or an unrighteous life and seeing it our way.
Remember that God is slow for anger and is great in mercy but that He is also a jealous God and seeks people who adore Him from the heart and are faithful to Him.
