Singer and actress Winans (Greenleaf) and Williams (best known from The Young and The Restless) are two of the stars in TV One’s original ensemble film Don’t Waste Your Pretty. Based on the eponymous novel penned by award-winning author Demetria L. Lucas, the film tells the story of tightly knit friends as they sort out their turbulent life and love issues.

After years of extreme career focus, Mykah finally stops making excuses and starts looking for love. Encouraged by her best friends, Mykah embraces the dating scene by taking their suggestions on speed dating, making online connections, and hitting the nightlife, but soon discovers love might be right in front of her. The recent divorcée Jeanné (Deborah Joy Winans) has put the idea of love on ice but has to decide if the burning flame from Mykah’s twin brother Michael (Redaric Williams) is warm enough to melt her heart again. Fun-loving, married couple Amma and Aisha are #couplegoals of the group but struggle to strike a balance as they embark on their parenthood journey. When jobs, romance, and family interactions prove more complicated than they had ever anticipated, the group of friends knows they can always turn to one another to figure out their next move. Keri Hilson, Jasmine Burke, Kaye Singleton and Rainey Branch also star in the film.

Michigan-native William Redaric was a series regular on The Young and the Restless. He has had recurring roles on The Quad, Lucifer, and Damages.

Detroit-native Deborah Joy Winans starred in OWN’s NAACP award-winning drama series Greenleaf from Executive Producer Oprah Winfrey. She released her most recent single I Won’t Stop Breathing on all digital platforms July 2020. The song was written by family as a tribute to heartbreak. Winans starred in the Angela Bassett directed television movie, Whitney, also portraying her real-life aunt, Cece Winans.
