We are at the half-way point, folks. As Sigur Rós sang 'þetta er ágætis byrjun' ''an alright start," it certainly had been up to having sat through about 14 mostly mundane, exhausting looking players and befuddled referees blowing five minutes early, battle out 1-0 matches quite the dull start to AFCON (Even the keepers were improving and not bringing a smile or two!) but THEN : Day 8 and that shock Equatorial Guinea win over the Desert Foxes followed up by an even bigger shock Comoros had beaten Ghana (albeit with ten men). Still...(and that number again - three) a third shock, not only did Algeria lose their winning record ; they are heading home out of the group!
Apologies, this will go long - how can you talk about all that and keep it under 30 minutes tonight?
