show moreCollege Station ISD school board members received a pandemic update during this week's monthly meeting.
Superintendent Mike Martindale reported as of last Friday, CSISD had 70 active cases involving 22 employees and 48 students.
Since the start of the school year, CSISD has closed four different classrooms at four different locations. Martindale says when ten percent of a classroom tests positive, they consider closing it. The same consideration is taken when three percent of the school or other CSISD building's population tests positive.
Martindale says more than 82 percent of students are learning in classrooms.
And efforts continue to get students who are failing while learning online back in classrooms. Martindale says that includes employing a recent announcement from the Texas Education Agency giving authority to local districts to move online students to classrooms when they are failing one or more classes or failing to engage or attend classes.
