On this week's show, our host Phil Tower speaks with John McNamara, VP of Government Affairs at the MRLA. Recently, the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association celebrated the efforts of the signing of SB 141 into state law that makes permanent the ability for restaurants to sell off-premise alcohol. Guest John McNamara also, updated us on some of the key legislative priorities for MRLA, especially as the state of Michigan just passed its largest budget in state history.

In part two of this week's program, Phil spoke with Andrea Faber “Transportation Planner" with the Grand Valley Metro Council, and “Clean Air Action Program Coordinator” for Kent and eastern Ottawa Counties for the West Michigan Clean Air Coalition. The West Michigan Clean Air Coalition was formed in 1995 in order to present a unified voice for cleaner air, regardless of individual reasons for doing so. The goal of the West Michigan Clean Air Coalition through its former Ozone Action! The program, now the Clean Air Action Program, was to educate the public about ozone problems and help reduce West Michigan ground-level ozone through voluntary emission reduction activities. We learned from Andrea that we had our earliest Action Day of the season this year on April 14.
