Luca Mercalli, president of the Italian Meteorological Society, is convinced that the big player of the infrastructure sector can contribute to putting to a stop the devastating effects of climate change. “There needs to be a plan to build the infrastructure that we need, such as dams, aqueducts, water supply networks,” says Mercalli in an interview with Webuildvalue magazine. “In order to plan our water infrastructure, for example, we can’t look at the precipitation levels of 30 years ago, but what will happen 30 years from now.”
