Outlier TV Full Interview with Gary Bencheghib Make A Change World

Growing up on the island of Bali, Gary Bencheghib saw first-hand the direct impact plastic pollution was having on his home island. So at age 14, with his younger brother Sam and older sister Kelly, started “Make A Change Bali” a youth led environmental organisation on a mission to clean up Bali’s coastlines.

Within 10 years Gary and Make a Change World have focused on getting plastic pollution on front page news and getting the world to know about the urgency to act now.

Their projects have included running across the US with up cycled plastic shoes to traveling down the world’s most polluted river on plastic bottle kayaks, which inspired Indonesia’s biggest mass clean up in history.

Cleaning up our planet is not an overnight job and it will necessitate everyone concerned. Gary believe’s that the best solutions need to be as affordable and as localised as possible for them to be massively scalable.

“At the rate that humans are destroying our planet, we believe that no idea is crazy enough to protect it”, says Gary.
