Are you ready for mining in space, space tourism, hotels and moon communities, and ultimately … smart cities in outer space? Sounds like science fiction, right? Well, it’s not as far off as you might think—it might blast off maybe even before this decade’s end. On this edition of the VISION by Protiviti podcast, we’re joined by Anthea Foyer, Sector Development Officer with the City of Toronto, who has been following this race to space closely and has written several articles about “Space Cities on Mars.” Anthea discusses The Artemis Accord, how we’ll govern in space, how mining asteroids could create Earth’s first trillionaires, and plenty of other out-of-this-world topics. (Sorry, we couldn’t resist.)

Interested in learning more? You can read Anthea’s recent article, “Think tank: City life on Mars? Creating human-centred communities in space and beyond,” here: www.smartcitiesworld.net/opinions/opinions/think-tank-city-life-on-mars-creating-human-centred-communities-in-space-and-beyond.
