People are being told not to worry about the rise of vaping, on the back of the latest moves to stamp out smoking.
New policies outlined in Smokefree 2025 will mean anyone currently aged 14 and under will never be able to smoke, and the number of retailers selling cigarettes will be slashed.
Auckland University Professor of Public Health Chris Bullen told Mike Hosking vaping won't be as addictive, because it doesn't have as many additives.
“Yes, we will see a rise in vaping, but we will see a that declining over time and then the Government has got various levers to make vaping less attractive and less available.”
