One thing that we know is that wherever there is cocaine, the cartels are not far behind. That even includes a place like Australia. In the past, we've talked about how the cartels, mainly CJNG and Sinaloa had established relationships with players in the australian criminal underworld and had begun to send their product to the land down under.
Fast forward to today and Australia now has more cocaine hitting its shores that its ever had before. And with the price tag coming it at a whopping 300,000 dollars per kilo for cocaine in Australia, you can see why the cartels would be interested in setting up shop.
To do that, they need people on the inside. In this episode we take a look at some of the logistical moves made by the cartels and how they bribe border officials in a scheme that is lifted directly from their playbook at the American border, to gain access to ports and other points of entry for their drugs.
