Story Transcript:

It: La tiepida luce dell'alba rischiarava Piazza Navona, uno degli innegabili gioielli di Roma. A quell'ora, i piccioni bevivano tranquilli nelle fontane e i caffè risvegliavano la piazza con l'irresistibile profumo del caffè. Era proprio lì che Giuseppe lavorava ogni giorno, in uno di quei caffè storici, apprezzando i primi raggi di sole che decoravano le bellezze barocche della piazza.
En: The warm light of dawn illuminated Piazza Navona, one of the undeniable jewels of Rome. At that hour, the pigeons peacefully drank from the fountains, and the cafes awakened the square with the irresistible aroma of coffee. It was right there that Giuseppe worked every day, in one of those historic cafes, appreciating the first rays of sun that adorned the baroque beauties of the square.

It: Quella mattina, come era solito fare, Giuseppe attraversava la piazza, salutando in maniera affettuosa le statuarie figure di pietra che da secoli sorvegliavano quel luogo. Entrò nel suo bar di fiducia sopraffatto da una strana, confusa sensazione, di quelle che ti fanno sentire, scoprirebbe poi, proprio un deficiente!
En: That morning, as he usually did, Giuseppe crossed the square, affectionately greeting the statuesque stone figures that had been watching over the place for centuries. He entered his trusted bar overwhelmed by a strange, confused feeling, one of those that make you feel like a complete idiot, as he would later discover!

It: Se volete sapere cosa successe dopo, lasciate che vi racconti dell'equivoco più incredibile che accadde a Giuseppe. L'aria mattutina ancora tiepida, i tavolini del bar ancora vuoti, Giuseppe si avvicinò al bancone, fiutando il caldo aroma del caffè che iniziava a pervadere l'aria. Ancora assonnato, emise un ordine al barista: "Tre espressi, grazie!".
En: If you want to know what happened next, let me tell you about the most incredible misunderstanding that happened to Giuseppe. The still warm morning air, the bar tables still empty, Giuseppe approached the counter, sniffing the warm aroma of coffee beginning to fill the air. Still groggy, he placed an order with the barista: "Three espressos, please!"

It: Il barman, incuriosito, non poté fare a meno di chiedere: "Spero che tu non li beviga tutti da solo!". Giuseppe, rimanendo perplesso, guardò il barista e guardò i tre espressi che gli venivano serviti. Fu lì che capì di aver commesso l'errore. Invece di un espresso, aveva ordinato tre, e pur di evitare un imbarazzo, decise di berli tutti.
En: Intrigued, the barista couldn't help but ask: "I hope you're not planning to drink them all by yourself!" Perplexed, Giuseppe looked at the barista and at the three espressos being served to him. That's when he realized his mistake. Instead of one espresso, he had ordered three, and to avoid embarrassment, he decided to drink them all.

It: Entrò in azione come un vero eroe del caffè. Un espresso, due espressi, tre espressi. Giuseppe li bevve tutti, uno dopo l'altro, nella speranza che nessuno notasse il suo errore. Sentì la caffeina scorrere nelle sue vene, rapidamente portando via un'eccessiva sonnolenza per regalargli un'inattesa e vibrante energia. Si sentì come se potesse correre una maratona...o almeno così pensava.
En: He sprang into action like a true coffee hero. One espresso, two espressos, three espressos. Giuseppe drank them all, one after the other, hoping no one would notice his mistake. He felt the caffeine race through his veins, quickly sweeping away excessive drowsiness to give him an unexpected and vibrant energy. He felt like he could run a marathon... or at least he thought so.

It: Ma, come tutte le cose in eccesso, scoprirà a sue spese che non è tutto oro quel che luccica. Dopo il terzo espresso, la testa di Giuseppe cominciò a girare. Il barista e i clienti all'interno del bar guardavano con stupore, ma Giuseppe, con il volto acceso e gli occhi sgranati, decise di fare una passeggiata a passo svelto per smaltire l’eccesso di caffeina.
En: But, as with all things in excess, he would learn the hard way that all that glitters is not gold. After the third espresso, Giuseppe's head began to spin. The barista and the customers inside the bar watched in amazement, but Giuseppe, with flushed face and wide eyes, decided to take a brisk walk to burn off the excess caffeine.

It: Camminato, trotterellato, e quasi rotolato, ritrovò a poco a poco la sua solita, vitale tranquillità. Quello che era iniziato come imbarazzo si era trasformato in un'avventura che avrebbe sicuramente raccontato ai suoi amici. Fu così che Giuseppe scopri anche un lato della sua personalità che fino ad allora non aveva conosciuto, la forza di affrontare un imbarazzo con humour e velocità. Ne fu orgoglioso, immensamente orgoglioso, aprendosi a una nuova lezione di vita su come, a volte, i piccoli errori possano portare a grandi scoperte.
En: He walked, trotted, and almost stumbled, gradually regaining his usual vital tranquility. What had started as embarrassment had turned into an adventure he would surely tell his friends about. Thus, Giuseppe also discovered a side of his personality he had not known until then – the strength to face embarrassment with humor and agility. He was proud, immensely proud, opening himself to a new life lesson on how, sometimes, small mistakes can lead to great discoveries.

It: Un abbraccio di luce dorata riempiva ormai Piazza Navona, mentre Giuseppe, tornato al bar, guardava la vita riprendere il suo corso, sorridendo alla sua piccola avventura. E in fondo alla tazza di caffè, vide riflettersi l'echeggiare di una saggezza nascosta: anche nel più imbarazzante degli errori, può celarsi un sorriso. Era un nuovo giorno, e Giuseppe sapeva che non avrebbe più bevuto tre espressi in una volta, ma se fosse capitato, avrebbe saputo come affrontarlo, tutt'altro che imbarazzato.
En: A hug of golden light now filled Piazza Navona, as Giuseppe, back at the bar, watched life resume its course, smiling at his little adventure. And at the bottom of the coffee cup, he saw the reflection of a hidden wisdom echoing: even in the most embarrassing of mistakes, a smile can be found. It was a new day, and Giuseppe knew he wouldn't drink three espressos at once anymore, but if it ever happened, he would know how to face it, anything but embarrassed.
