Bryan's American Legion post is celebrating the organization's centennial Thursday night.

Post 159 second vice commander Susan Marty says the monthly dinner meeting will include a historical dramatic production presented by the Blinn-Bryan theater students.

Marty says the students, under the direction of Greg Wise, will portray the Post’s namesake Cyrus Earle Graham, his brother, mother and other World War I veterans.

The production includes period costumes, photos and historical records of Lt. Graham, World War I era music, poppies and a recitation of “In Flanders Field”.

Thursday's dinner meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the post headquarters, located at Highway 21 and Waco Street.

Marty says the post recently learned it has qualified for a state historical marker, which will be dedicated next year when the post celebrates its centennial.

And at next week's College Station city council meeting, Marty says a proclamation will be presented naming new fields at Veterans Park "Legion Fields" in honor of the post and American Legion centennials.
