Brian interviews Shiva Rahbaran. Shiva is a writer and culture researcher based in London, UK. She has written extensively on post-revolutionary literature and cinema in Iran. Her first work of fiction "My Name Is Innocence" is about three sisters caught in the throes of the Islamic Revolution, and will be published by Humanitas next year. She talks about Iran and the WLF National Revolution which was triggered by the death of Mahsa Jina Amini, a young Iranian-Kurdish girl, at the hands of the morality police for not having worn her hijab properly. But it was part of a much greater anti-regime social movement going on in Iran since the very beginning of the Islamic Republic.
