In this episode we continue studying the Book of Revelation. In this episode we note that John mentions five kings, five are fallen, one is, and the other is not yet but when he comes, he continues for a short time. Jesus said, except those days be shortened no flesh would be saved. The key phrase is "When he comes."

Daniel mentions a beast with iron teeth and feet that are part iron and part clay. We discover that the word iron has two meanings. One meaning refers to a metal that's used to make tools and utensils and the other means, fearfulness, to fear, to revere, to frighten, to make afraid, to stand in awe, to be awed, to cause astonishment, to be held in awe, to be fearful, be dreadful, honor respect, inspire reverence.

The beastly man will use fear to subdue and subject earth’s inhabitants. Fear will cause people to obey him, out of fear they will do his will, this is how he forces people to worship him.

The AHLB says, fear is throwing oneself down at the foot of one in authority.

We note that before a king entered into a city whether for good or evil he sent a messenger or messengers before him to prepare the way. The messenger’s success or lack of success determined how the king proceeded. Satan has sent messengers into the land and how we respond to the messengers determines if he comes.

We note how the King of Assyria used fear against King Hezekiah. The fear tactic worked in the beginning causing him to strip the gold off God's house to appease him.

This only emboldened the king, he sent 3 messengers to Hezekiah to taunt him, even blaspheming God' name, and criticizing Hezekiah's trust in God.

Hezekiah finally prayed and God said, Because you have prayed to Me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard.’

The prophet Isaiah told Hezekiah, "Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the king of Assyria: 'He shall not come into this city, Nor shoot an arrow there, Nor come before it with shield, Nor build a siege mound against it.

By the way that he came, By the same shall he return; And he shall not come into this city,' Says the LORD.

'For I will defend this city, to save it For My own sake and for My servant David's sake.' " 2 Kings 19:32-34

If we don't want Satan to come, We must reject the messengers he sends, the ones seeking to make us bow down in fear. If we bow down to them, if we pay homage to them we invite his coming.

But if we go to God in prayer, trusting him to intervene on our behalf, he will stop Satan, keeping him from making an appearance.

Another example is seen in the New Testament. Christ did not enter into Samaria because they rejected his messengers.

Luke 9:51  And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,
Luke 9:52  And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
Luke 9:53  And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.
Luke 9:54  And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
Luke 9:55  But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
Luke 9:56  For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village

We must reject Satan's messengers and receive Christ's messengers, so the king of Glory will come in!
