Created in the 40's by Philip Rapp, the Bickersons, John and Blanch are a not-so-happily married couple. This series follow their nightly squabbles, as John usually works long days. During these evenings, neurotic Blanche is constantly on John's case to the point of absurdity. The money John brings in from his multiple jobs is squandered on material things that Blanch fancies. Meanwhile John can't even afford things for himself; not even bourbon! In the few hours he has to sleep, Blanche heckles him with accusations that he doesn't love her. Her attacks are relentless, and appear intended to drive John bonkers. The poor beleaguered John's only weapons are insults, which he has honed to perfection over the years.
