Alarmed aloneness, that state that’s not ‘fight-or-flight’ and yet not contentment or social engagement… Alarmed aloneness is the place in which we get an elevated heart rate and increased cortisol because somebody (or something) who is important to us has disappeared.

When Sarah Peyton, shared her theory with me, I knew we had to have her back as she is the person who has given a name to this emotional state that many with long-term conditions can relate.

Sarah is an international speaker and #1 best selling author who has a passion for weaving together neuroscience knowledge and experiences of healing to unify our emotional brains and bodies. She makes Interpersonal Neurobiology research available to all, so we too can understand how this new area of study can dynamically change the trajectory of our healing. In this episode, Sarah shares:

• What is alarmed aloneness and why it is essential to be aware of,
• How alarmed aloneness can affect us and those we love,
• What we can do to change alarmed aloneness into connections,
• How physical symptoms, our emotions, and past trauma are intertwined,
and so much more….

More About Sarah Peyton: Sarah is the creator of the Your Resonant Self program (www.yourresonantself.com). She creates change using precision resonant language that easily creates insights and transformation. Besides her Interpersonal Neurobiology research, Sarah also brings to us her long-term study of Nonviolent Communication and 3-D body-centered explorations of families over generations through Family Constellation work.
