Fi: Kesäpäivä oli kuuma Helsingin keskustassa.
En: A summer day was hot in the center of Helsinki.

Fi: Keskuspoliisiaseman odotustila oli täynnä ihmisiä.
En: The waiting room at the central police station was full of people.

Fi: Fluoresoivat valot heittivät teräviä varjoja lattialle.
En: Fluorescent lights cast sharp shadows on the floor.

Fi: Ilma oli täynnä hiljaista mutinaa ja puhelimien sointia.
En: The air was filled with quiet murmurs and the ringing of phones.

Fi: Aleksi seisoi jonossa hikisenä ja hermostuneena.
En: Aleksi stood in line, sweaty and nervous.

Fi: Hän oli nuori, päättäväinen mies, mutta tänään hänen sisällään tuntui myllerrys.
En: He was a young, determined man, but today, he felt turmoil inside.
