Story Transcript:

Uk: Літнє сонце яскраво світило над стародавніми руїнами.
En: The summer sun was shining brightly over the ancient ruins.

Uk: Група школярів зібралася для екскурсії.
En: A group of schoolchildren gathered for an excursion.

Uk: Серед них були Петро та Оксана.
En: Among them were Petro and Oksana.

Uk: Давні стіни, зарослі рослинністю, зберігали у собі багато таємниць.
En: The ancient walls, overgrown with vegetation, held many secrets.

Uk: – Друзі, будьте уважні!
En: "Friends, be attentive!"

Uk: – казала вчителька, роздаючи завдання.
En: the teacher said as she handed out assignments.

Uk: Петро, захоплений новими місцями, ледве слухав її слова.
En: Petro, captivated by the new surroundings, barely listened to her words.

Uk: Його погляд привернула закрита зона.
En: His attention was drawn to a closed-off area.

Uk: Знак попереджав: "Вхід заборонено".
En: A sign warned: "No entry."

Uk: – Оксано, буде цікаво зазирнути туди, – шепотів Петро.
En: "Oksana, it would be interesting to take a look there," Petro whispered.

Uk: – Ні, Петре.
En: "No, Petro.

Uk: Ми маємо виконати завдання, – серйозно відповідала Оксана.
En: We have to complete the assignment," Oksana responded seriously.

Uk: Але Петро не міг стримати своєї цікавості.
En: But Petro couldn't contain his curiosity.

Uk: Як тільки вчителька відвернулася, він швидко скочив через огорожу.
En: As soon as the teacher turned away, he quickly jumped over the fence.

Uk: Оксана залишилась сумніватися.
En: Oksana stayed behind, hesitating.

Uk: Вона знала, що це може бути небезпечно.
En: She knew it could be dangerous.

Uk: – Петре, почекай!
En: "Petro, wait!"

Uk: – гукала вона, але його вже не було видно.
En: she called out, but he was already out of sight.

Uk: Оксана стояла на роздоріжжі: або завершити завдання, або допомогти Петру.
En: Oksana stood at a crossroads: to complete the assignment or to help Petro.

Uk: Вона взяла глибокий вдих і вирішила йти за ним.
En: She took a deep breath and decided to follow him.

Uk: Вузькі стежки вели у лабіринт руїн.
En: Narrow paths led into the labyrinth of ruins.

Uk: Оксана уважно слідувала слідами Петра.
En: Oksana carefully followed Petro's tracks.

Uk: Враз вона почула далекий крик.
En: Suddenly, she heard a distant cry.

Uk: Серце закалатало сильніше.
En: Her heart pounded harder.

Uk: Петро, мабуть, потрапив у біду.
En: Petro must have gotten into trouble.

Uk: Вона побігла на звук і знайшла його: він тримався за ногу, що була застрягла між каменями.
En: She ran toward the sound and found him: he was clutching his leg, which was stuck between the stones.

Uk: – Оксано, дякую, що прийшла, – сказав Петро зі сльозами на очах.
En: "Oksana, thank you for coming," Petro said, tears in his eyes.

Uk: Оксана взяла гілку і допомогла йому звільнити ногу.
En: Oksana took a branch and helped him free his leg.

Uk: Вона обережно вивела його з небезпечного місця назад до групи.
En: She cautiously led him out of the dangerous area back to the group.

Uk: – Я зрозумів, що інколи треба бути обережним, – сказав Петро, коли вони повернулися.
En: "I realized that sometimes you need to be careful," Petro said when they returned.

Uk: – І я зрозуміла, що інколи можна ризикнути, якщо це для друзів, – відповіла Оксана з посмішкою.
En: "And I realized that sometimes it's worth taking a risk if it's for friends," Oksana replied with a smile.

Uk: В кінці під екскурсії вони не тільки закінчили завдання, але й навчились розуміння і підтримки.
En: By the end of the excursion, not only had they completed the assignment, but they had also learned about understanding and support.

Uk: І хоча руїни залишилися тими ж, їхнє бачення світу змінилося.
En: And although the ruins remained the same, their outlook on the world had changed.
