Af: Die son skyn helder oor die Kaapsewynlandgoed.
En: The sun shines brightly over the Cape wine estate.

Af: Pieter en Annelize sit onder 'n groot eikeboom.
En: Pieter and Annelize sit under a large oak tree.

Af: Hulle geniet die koel skadu.
En: They enjoy the cool shade.

Af: Die wingerde strek so ver as wat die oog kan sien.
En: The vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see.

Af: “Ek is so bly ons het vandag hier gekom,” sê Annelize met 'n glimlag.
En: “I’m so glad we came here today,” Annelize says with a smile.

Af: Pieter glimlag terug.
En: Pieter smiles back.

Af: “Ek ook. Dit is pragtig hier. Die wyn is heerlik en die uitsig is ongelooflik.”
En: “Me too. It’s beautiful here. The wine is delicious, and the view is incredible.”

Af: Rondom hulle hoor hulle die geluide van ander familiegroepe wat lag, gesels en hulself geniet.
En: Around them, they hear the sounds of other family groups laughing, chatting, and enjoying themselves.

Af: 'n Paar kinders hardloop en speel op die groen gras.
En: A few children run and play on the green grass.

Af: “Proe hierdie wyn, Pieter,” sê Annelize en gee hom 'n glas.
En: “Try this wine, Pieter,” Annelize says, handing him a glass.

En: “It’s this year’s special harvest. I think you’ll enjoy it.”

Af: Pieter neem die glas en neem 'n slukkie.
En: Pieter takes the glass and takes a sip.

En: He nods approvingly.

Af: “Jy is reg. Dit is baie lekker. Die bessie-en-jasmyn-geure is sterk. Ek hou daarvan.”
En: “You’re right. It’s very nice. The berry and jasmine flavors are strong. I like it.”

Af: Hulle sit 'n rukkie in stilte en geniet die omgewing.
En: They sit for a while in silence, enjoying the surroundings.

Af: Die voëls sing in die bome en 'n sagte briesie waai deur die blare.
En: The birds sing in the trees, and a gentle breeze blows through the leaves.

Af: “Kom ons stap 'n bietjie tussen die wingerde,” stel Annelize voor.
En: “Let’s take a walk through the vineyards,” Annelize suggests.

Af: Pieter stem in en hulle staan op, ril hulle kombers op, en begin stap.
En: Pieter agrees, and they stand up, fold their blanket, and start walking.

En: The rows of vineyards have large, juicy bunches of grapes hanging from the branches.

En: “I’ve always wondered how a winery works,” Annelize says.

En: “As I understand it, the grapes are carefully picked first,” Pieter responds.

En: “Then they are pressed to get the juice.

En: After that, the juice is fermented until it becomes wine.”

Af: Hulle kom by 'n groot rooi skuur met 'n oop deur.
En: They reach a large red barn with an open door.

Af: Binne is hope houtevate, gestapel en gereed om die wyn te huisves.
En: Inside are heaps of wooden barrels, stacked and ready to house the wine.

Af: 'n Werker groet hulle vriendelik en nooi hulle in om rond te kyk.
En: A worker greets them kindly and invites them in to have a look around.

Af: “Dis verbasend hoeveel werk dit verg om een bottel wyn te maak,” sê Annelize.
En: “It’s amazing how much work it takes to make one bottle of wine,” Annelize says.

Af: “Ja, dis werklik indrukwekkend,” voeg Pieter by.
En: “Yes, it’s truly impressive,” Pieter adds.

Af: “Dit laat my die wyn nog meer waardeer.”
En: “It makes me appreciate the wine even more.”

Af: Hulle stap terug na hul piekniekplek.
En: They walk back to their picnic spot.

Af: Die dag begin tot 'n einde kom en die son sak agter die heuwels.
En: The day begins to come to an end, and the sun sets behind the hills.

Af: “Ek het dit regtig geniet vandag,” sê Annelize.
En: “I really enjoyed today,” Annelize says.

Af: “Dit was goed om tyd saam te spandeer en die natuur te waardeer.”
En: “It was good to spend time together and appreciate nature.”

Af: Pieter knik instemmend.
En: Pieter nods in agreement.

Af: “Ja, dit was 'n wonderlike dag.
En: “Yes, it was a wonderful day.

Af: Ek dink ons moet dit weer doen.”
En: I think we should do this again.”

Af: Hulle pak hul goed op en begin terugstap na die parkeerterrein.
En: They pack up their things and start walking back to the parking lot.

Af: Terwyl hulle stap, neem hulle een laaste kyk na die pragtige Kaapsewynlandgoed.
En: As they walk, they take one last look at the beautiful Cape wine estate.

Af: “Tot volgende keer,” sê Annelize saggies, met 'n gevoel van vervulling.
En: “Until next time,” Annelize says softly, with a feeling of fulfillment.

Af: Met 'n gevoel van vreugde en rus vertrek Pieter en Annelize, hulle harte vol van die mooi herinneringe wat hulle gemaak het.
En: With a sense of joy and peace, Pieter and Annelize depart, their hearts full of the lovely memories they have made.
