Spike Lee directed "He Got Game" in 1998 and although it didn't meet the budget as far as sales go, he taught us things that money can't buy and that's being a man. In this film, being a man is everything, even more than basketball and it's funny because basketball is life for Jake and Jesus Shuttlesworth. The very thing separated these two characters and could it bring them together? And how. I dig the film for it's visual style, how the characters interact with each, seeing actually use their bodies to drve the film. It's a very physical film besides the fact it's mainly of basketball. I also praise how Lee was able to incorporate the business side of basketball, which is always the nasty side 'cause basketball is a big business and it's merciless and this film brings humanity to it. I'd see it again and I wish it can come out in screens again. Especially at the fact that it teaches you how to separate the fakers from the real ones. Enjoy.
