Join Matt Andruscavage and former 49ers running back Dexter Carter as they go through the last two 49ers games and preview Sunday Night's matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
The 49ers lost a very difficult overtime game to the Seattle Seahawks and were able to bounce back against the very scrappy Arizona Cardinals. The last three games have not been easy as the divisional opponents have made things tough on the 49ers' defense, but despite all of the adversity as well as key injuries, San Francisco sits at 9-1 atop the NFC West and the NFC.
This week, the 49ers host the Green Bay Packers who enter the game at 8-2. They are pretty healthy and are coming off of a bye. This will be a great gauge as to how the 49ers stack up against the elite of the NFC for the postseason.
The good news for San Francisco is that George Kittle returned to practice on Thursday, as did Deebo Samuel and Emmanuel Sanders. All three are expected to be available on Sunday, which should give the offense, especially the ground game, the boost it needs. Linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, defensive tackle D.J. Jones, and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon are also fully back and will play Sunday. Matt Breida and Dee Ford did light practicing and rehabbing on the sideline and are still a question mark for the game.
