All this week, Kieran O’Connor will be digging out his boots and visiting some of Waterford’s most inventive and forward-thinking farms and producers to meet the people behind them. Today, Monday we meet David Currid of Grantstown Nurseries in Ballygunner on the outskirts of Waterford city. They have been supplying top quality tomatoes to the Irish market since 1978. A family business with a long tradition of innovation and the highest horticultural practices, all tomatoes are grown to the highest standards and are certified under the Bord Bia quality assurance scheme. Their tomatoes can be found at Ardkeen Quality Food Store, Dunnes, Supervalu and Tesco and are used in many local restaurants and cafes.
