EPISODE SUMMARY
Today’s episode is Part 2 of our training on Implementing Fitness into Clinical Practice, if you have not yet listened to Episode 3, I highly suggest that you hit the pause button on this episode and go back to listen to Episode 3 (the Part 1 of this training) FIRST.
In our Episode 3 (Part 1), Dr. Teter laid the foundation for implementing fitness as an important component of patient care. We discussed the differences and similarities between rehab and fitness, touched on the reasons why rehab programs fail and the six stages of care.
In today’s episode, Dr. Teter will be talking more about exercise selection and load progression, managing pain during exercise, the ABCS of motor pattern programming and how to use fitness as maintenance care.
We will discuss how fitness isn’t just about improving capacity, but about improving overall health and how to develop a continuum of care from rehab to fitness and how to determine where your patient falls in the spectrum.
