Questa puntata è per le persone che, come me (e so che esistono), hanno guidato per molto tempo in un paese straniero, dove magari si guidava dalla parte opposta della strada, e poi sono arrivati in Italia e hanno ripreso in mano la macchina. Non è così semplice come si pensi.
Io fino a poco tempo fa ancora dovevo fare uno sforzo di concentrazione pazzesco quando arrivavo nelle rotonde, perché se mi capitava di prendere una rotonda sovrappensiero mi buttavo dalla parte sbagliata della strada. Ma a parte questo, che poi imparare a guidare dalla parte giusta della strada è il minimo, quello che veramente frega noi guidatori di altri posti, è il modo in cui, ad esempio, si fa benzina.

Io ricordo, giovanissima, ragazzina, mi trovavo in Germania in macchina e io, da cretina, ho fatto benzina e volevo spostarmi per liberare la pompa, non sapendo che in Germania invece si lascia lì la macchina, si va dentro, si paga e poi si prende la macchina, quindi mi sono messi a rincorrerli come se volessi scappare senza pagare.

Ecco, qui in Italia c'è questa cosa qua che tu metti la carta di credito e ti tolgono 100€ dalla carta, o comunque si prendono la possibilità di usare questi 100 euro. Io ho sempre terrore di fare la cosa sbagliata, che non funziona, che mi mangia la carta, per cui finora, e sono quasi sette anni che sono rientrata, riuscivo sempre a farmi fare benzina da mio marito.

Diciamo che, in generale, a me fare benzina non mi fa impazzire, non è una cosa che mi piace tantissimo, però ecco, adesso ho preso il coraggio e ho fatto io benzina. E sì, ripeto, sono cose piccole, minuzie, ma io ero abituata, andavo in Australia facevo benzina spostava la macchina, la portavo a lavare eccetera eccetera perché conoscevo il modo in cui funzionava il sistema e lì ad esempio, in Australia tu fai benzina e poi paghi quello che hai consumato, non è che paghi di più e non è che devi dare delle cauzioni che altrimenti scappi.

Penso che sia una cosa molto italiana questa e a me le cose molto italiane mi mettono un po' di ansia perché non so mai come funzionano, se che magari, sulla carta dovrebbero funzionare, però c'è sempre qualcosina che magari poi non funziona ti trovi lì, o mi trovo io lì da sola, in mezzo a non so dove, con la cartina in mano, con la cartina infilata dentro, magari non mi prende neanche il telefono. Ah, non fatemici pensare.

Comunque ho fatto quasi il pieno e sono pronta ad andare. Persone come me in ascolto che hanno questo problema, non vi sentite sole perché siamo in tanti, anche se non lo ammettiamo.

Here, in Italy, there is this thing here that you insert your credit card and they take 100€ off your card, or at least they take the option of using this 100€. I'm always terrified of doing the wrong thing, that it won't work, that it will eat my card, so up until now, and it's almost seven years that I've been back, I could always get my husband to pump gas.
